The Dance The Night Away — Chili Cook-Off
Means Art For Our Sierra Madre School Children

Sierra Madre Kiwanis Dance The Night Away — Chili Cook-Off started in 2010 as a fund-raiser for our Kiwanis Club. The revenue generated helps sponsor the Creative Arts Group Imagine Art Program for the Sierra Madre schools. This program has become an integral part of the school’s art program. The Dance The Night Away — Chili Cook-Off is a foundation stone for the Sierra Madre Kiwanis community’s support.

The Dance The Night Away — Chili Cook-Off is back in full swing. The theme has a county western feel: cowboys, cowgirls, straw bales, dance callers, and instructors for various country/western dances.

The Dance The Night Away — Chili Cook-Off is one of the most popular events in the City of Sierra Madre. Residents and folks from neighboring communities come for the dance and chili tasting competition.

Chili entries come from commercial and private individuals that believe their chili is the best in the west. What is more spectacular are the winners of the “People’s Choice” award. Yep, you guessed it; the winners are generally the private entries. Los Angeles Food Critic Peter Dills judges the competition for both commercial and private chilies.

Everyone has a great time eating the chili, and of course, there are plenty of other delectable delights to cool your taste buds.
