We all have our favorite memories of his unique brand of generosity—like the time I found him selling Fritos and chili, all in the name of supporting the Sierra Madre Playhouse.

He had a special gift for bringing us together. His Chili Cook-off and Dance wasn’t just a fundraiser; it was a cornerstone of our community, a night where neighbors became friends and where some of our most cherished annual memories were made. Joe found such joy in creativity, whether he was contributing to the Creative Arts Group or meticulously crafting his signature scarecrows.

From the Rose Float Dinner and Huck Finn celebrations to the 4th of July and Halloween festivities, Joe’s fingerprints were on every local tradition. He was a constant, reliable presence at every town event, and wherever there was work to be done, his devoted wife, Jacquie, was right there by his side. Joe helped build the very fabric of this community, helping to create a place so vibrant that new generations continue to move here and call it home. He leaves behind a legacy of service that will be deeply missed, but forever felt in the heart of this town.
